Rooms and Layout:​
​
UPSTAIRS:
The main bedroom has a double bed and adjoining small dressing room area with full length mirror and storage space. The room lets in lots of natural light and has the features of the original Victorian fireplace and wooden window shutters. Set back, it retains full privacy for guests to enjoy the expansive views. It's pretty in the evening with twinkly lights on the water and boats gently bobbing on the waves at night.

The peaceful second bedroom is set up for a single person with enviable views across the back garden where you can hear the birds singing throughout the day.
Both bedrooms have black-out roller blinds for night-time.

THE TERRACE:
Guests can enjoy the 18ft elevated terrace which is set up with outdoor furniture. Cushions, throws and an outdoor solar lamp are also provided.

DOWNSTAIRS:
Open plan layout consisting of the living /dining room, snug, bathroom, and kitchen. There's a useful boot room by the front door for hanging up outdoor wear.
The living room space is stylishly and comfortably furnished and set out for dining and relaxing. Cosy up to watch a film or peruse our small home library - we've got a nice selection of books! The adjoining Snug is set up with a small sofa and double wardrobe which guests can use for extra storage. The living room space also works well for homeworkers if you need to bring your laptop.
Fully renovated, the modern bathroom leads off from the snug and has a bath shower with a powerful overhead Rainforest shower head. There's also a heated towel rail and we supply complimentary soap dispenser.
Our small galley style kitchen overlooks the back garden and through the porch, there's direct access to it. Fully equipped with everything you need for your holiday including a Lavazza coffee machine to make that essential morning brew!
There's a picnic bench outside the kitchen door if you want to sit out in good weather. The lawn is accessible up 4 stone steps. Enclosed by shrubbery, it's a little steep and uneven with some stone steps dotted about.​​​​

Gym Access For Guests:

In collaboration with The Journey - a local gym in the nearby town of Helensburgh - guests may use their private facilities whilst staying with us. Details are in our guest book - simply scan the insert leaflet QR code to access their flexible day passes.

Parking:
​
There is parking for one vehicle on our drive. Guests can also park across the road in the layby or directly outside the house on the pavement.
EV Car Charging:
​
​In advance of your stay please let us know if you are bringing an electric car. We would advise guests to download the ChargeplacesScotland app and buy a card in advance of travel so you can arrive with a full charge. We explicitly forbid the charging of EVs via a regular three-pin plug into a domestic socket or using an extension lead trailing across our property or through windows. In the event electric readings are higher than normal guests will be charged.

Security:
​
There's a Ring video doorbell located to the left of the front door. This monitors guest security at the front door and is switched on throughout guest stays.

Dog Guests:
​
The property is suitable for one small dog.
DOG AMENITIES:
The cottage is dog friendly and we supply a few items for their stay including a sleeping basket, dog bowl and silicone mat, dog towels and complimentary dog waste bags. There's also a few treats ready for your pet's arrival to help them settle in!
DOG RULES:
Pets must sleep downstairs and keep off the furniture. Please ensure your dog is kept on a lead outside the property - the back garden is enclosed but there is no gate on the entrance to the road. Dogs are not permitted to be washed indoors- there's a flexi hose set up at the back of the house for this purpose. There's also a dog waste bin - please empty when you check out.

Guest Occupancy:
​
The maximum number of persons occupying Gareloch Cottage must not exceed 3 and only those guests whose contact details have been supplied to us may occupy the property. Please be advised that no extra overnight visitors are allowed to stay at the property. In the event of over occupancy, the additional guest (s) will be asked to leave immediately and find alternative accommodation at their own cost.

House Rules:
​
Gareloch Cottage is strictly non smoking and non vaping in doors. Guests must dispose of any cigarette butts if smoking outside.
Guests agree not to light candles in to the property during their stay.
Guests are given clear instructions where to park during their stay. Please ensure you do not block or park in front of any of our neighbours property.
No parties or events are to be held at the property.
Guests must not tamper with our WIFI, install any TV apps or switch off Ring during their stay.
Guests agree to be respectful of our property and all belongings during their stay.
Guests must inform us of any damage or breakages during their stay.

Local Amenities:
​
There's a small Co-Op in Rosneath which is within walking distance of the cottage. Open 7 days until 10pm.
The nearby small villages to the house which include Cove, Rosneath, Kilcreggan and Garelochhead have some food stores, cafes and a pub.
About 5 miles drive away is the Victorian seaside town of Helensburgh; home to some interesting independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
We provide extensive info in our guest books for places to eat, drink and visit - but please feel free to ask if we can help.

Regular service 7 days a week to and from Helensburgh and right round the Peninsula

Helensburgh has a train station with services to Glasgow and Edinburgh

Guest Booking Policies:
​
Guests must provide their address details and phone number, plus names of each guest when they book. Once we have received confirmation of your booking we will email you direct to request this. This is a requirement before details for your stay are provided. We will email you all details at least 24 hours before your stay.
​
We do not ask for a damage deposit and you will only pay if you cause damage during your stay. The maximum we would request is £250 per stay. Guests are asked to please email us full details and photo of any damage whilst at the house, we appreciate accidents do sometimes happen but are grateful to know sooner rather than later!
​
By booking directly on our site and reading our Guest info, you accept our Terms and Conditions. If there is anything you are unsure about please do email us in advance of booking and we will be happy to answer any queries.
Check In and Out Times:
​
On the day of arrival the house will be accessible from 4pm. Guests will be emailed full information regarding self check in with instructions.
On the last day of your holiday guests should check out by 11am as shortly after our cleaner will arrive.
If we can accommodate earlier check in / check out times for your stay we will let you know in advance, which will be based on our guest bookings. No extra charge will be made for this. ​
Payment:
​
You can reserve and pay to stay at Gareloch Cottage on our secure website. We accept all major credit cards via secure payment. Once you have paid you will receive an email to confirm your booking. Our calendar is kept up to date with latest availability at all times.
Cancellations and Refunds:
​
Should you wish to cancel once you have booked and paid for your stay we require written notice by email with full details of your stay.
Holidaymakers who cancel a minimum of 14 days before check-in will get back the full amount they have paid- less our credit card admin fee. Cancelling less than 14 days before check-in there is a refund of half the amount - less our credit card admin fee.
Otherwise no refund applies but we will do our best to accommodate guests should you wish to transfer your booking dates in this instance.
Please note it is the responsibility of the guest to take out their own holiday insurance to cover against any cancellation costs that may be incurred. We do not accept responsibility for financial or any loss due to cancelling your booking on our website.
